August 29, 1950 barely a month before the abandonment of the Venice Short Line wooden car 969 leads a two car train ready to load passengers at Santa Monica Station. The Venice Short Line was the last line to utilize wooden cars on the PE.

PE car 1036 leads an inbound three car train of wooden Ten Hundreds down Pacific Ave. The train has just departed Venice Station at Pacific Ave and Windward on the Venice Short Line November 1, 1946. In earlier years Venice, with its canals and amusement Pier and Ocean Park Piers created heavy passenger traffic for the line on hot summer days.
